"We believe representation is the surest path towards recreational reading."

Heeding to the aesthetics of the Blerd and the Beautiful and the spirit of the Black Nerdhood, Library Bae aspires to position outreach programs as a strategy to support the enhancement of Black Library Professionals and Educators and to celebrate diverse children's book titles beyond Black History Month.

Our outreach aim is to honor those that exhibit a passion for reaching reluctant readers while paying homage to the children's book writers and illustrators that draw attention to the unique characteristics of children and communities that are ohterwise underrepresented.

To celebrate diverse children's books and broaden one's horizons, our Storytime programs encompass both the mirror and window approach to cultural diversity. Through the Reads of Color philosophy, our literacy advocates will bestow reader's advisory techniques upon the community and teach parents and caregivers how to make books come alive.
